Parasite ★★★

[social stratification, aspiration, space (elevation)]

An engrossing, but bleak film about the illusion of social mobility in Capitalism and the resulting desperate, un-structured short-sightedness of the marginalized. Succeeds as an aesthetic study of spatial contrast and verticality relative to class--the descent from the Park's home/ the sub-basement flood sequence is the film's best, imo--but counters this theme by anchoring the narrative payoff in cheap suspense and infighting between the "family of charlatans" and the usurped/victimized Moon-gwang and husband.
