Still waiting around for that Neill Blomkamp Alien movie (and District 9 holds up surprisingly well a decade later)
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
This kind of show is why sci-fi gets a bad rap. It’s derivative, visually uninteresting, and the red herring lesbian trope is boarderline disgusting. Women deserve better science fiction characters, and ones whose backstory doesn’t always invovle rape. Please excuse me while I go and throw up.
Had to see this one again in theaters, it’s visually stunning and oh so smart. I have a weird complaint with the movies Chris Miller produces though, I think they might be too funny. Every line is a joke and it’s exhausting and leads to me thinking that his films are always little overwritten. Still love them though.
