so far the easiest country (territory) to navigate through because of the english first names.
that said, i added the full names of many of these directors to the database to make finding them easier, as the abbreviated english ones alone often don't yield many (or any!) results. this is the list i spent the most time on thus far, trying to add every film of every director i can find, which includes changing around a lot of metadata for duplicate entries under different names. i'm also adding biographies and pictures for the directors since most don't have any!

besides a relatively decent number of directors, theres also lots of prolific female producers, writers, and assistant directors who have worked behind the scenes from the start to get HK to where its at today.
