  i love how they really crystallise the slow-dawning realisation that you’re in deep shit. i don’t think they should’ve ended on that music (or the montage) tho.

  saw this at lincoln center* when it came out so just putting this here for posterity. i knew very little about him back then and to my surprise (and andrew’s lol) i started uncontrollably weeping when the first notes for ‘merry christmas mr lawrence’ started playing at the concert scene. such a beautiful documentary about a man nourishing his creative practice in his sick body on this withering, beautiful world. destroyed me.
