It felt SO GOOD to watch a 100 million dollar movie where the budget didn’t primarily go to star salaries and cgi. God damn does this movie look great!
You can really see how Stahelski has progressed as a filmmaker since the first one, each successive movie feels more and more cinematic.

I’ll always find some of the world building stuff cringey (the goofy coins and tatted up secretaries in particular) and when these movies try to be genuinely cool…

You know how as an action fan sometimes you JUST want action? Well, here ya go!!!

Power rangers/ super Sentai alum Koichi Sakamoto wows me again with this no frills, hard hitting action junk gem. It feels like the entire point of this documentary was to have Frank Stallone feel better about himself. There’s multiple talking heads assuring the audience “yes really, he’s quite talented, I swear”, it’s a very odd, kind of sad experience to be honest.

I enjoyed Frank’s constant imitations of his brother, was worth watching for that alone.

I was hoping I’d fall in love with this Sex and Fury follow up the second time but I still find it incredibly disjointed, even by Ishii standards. A very nice looking movie but it’s clear they cut the budget significantly. Luckily Ishii is talented enough to still make a stylish, sleazy good time.

Flawed, but still a must see for the absolute batshit finale that is the epitome of pinky violence. There’s a reason EVERY review on here mentions it!
