• Frailty

    Frailty

    ★★★★

I saw a dvd of some Davey & Goliath episodes at a thrift store the other day.

Anyways, this was very cool. Thrilling, but also took its time. Bill Paxton is such a talent, and he and those child actors carry this film. Really good horror thriller.

Axel F…. stands for Axel Foley?!

  • Addams Family Reunion

    Addams Family Reunion

    ★★½

This isn’t offensively bad, but it looks so much worse when compared to its predecessors. Addams Family Values is in my top 5 films of all time, so this stings a little extra. At least I can add another movie to my Children’s Horror and Spooky Cinema list.

  • Times Square

    Times Square

    ★★★½

Finally! After years of waiting, Times Square is available to watch online.

I really love youth in revolt style movies, and Allan Moyle sure as hell knows how to make them. Times Square doesn’t work for me as well as his later work, Pump Up the Volume, but there’s still so much to enjoy here. I love the way Moyle depicts the city and the people in it. There’s a real “come together” atmosphere, and whether it’s realistic or not, I…

This really makes Michael McKean’s role in Airheads so much funnier.

  • Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan

Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan

    ★★½

What a bop that end credits song is!

While this is, undeniably, one of the worst Friday the 13th films (my personal least favorite), I still get some enjoyment out of watching it. My love for the series prevails! It’s just fun!

  • Carrie

    ★★★

    Aggressively fine.

  • Just Friends

    Just Friends

    ★★½

I mean hey, it’s great, right? The two biggest geeks back in the day, now fighting to have a shot with the hottest chick in high school? You can’t write that stuff, my friend.

Well, someone did, and it’s ass.

  • Hellraiser: Bloodline

    Hellraiser: Bloodline

    ★★½

In what world do people want to watch three half-assed movies crammed into one 85 minute mess? What were the writers on that made them think this would work?

Such a disappointingly incoherent plot. None of the 3 stories are compelling in the least. Both the horror and comedy are stripped from Bloodline, like the skin of a woman about to be possessed by a cenobyte; which I guess they can do now? It left me feeling completely apathetic for each…

  • After Midnight

    After Midnight

    ★★★

The story with the attempted rape really blows, but I loved the overarching segment, Allison’s Story. As with many anthologies, there’s some good and some bad, but most of this is well done. The score rocks and the cinematography is gorgeous. Definitely worth checking out, if you’re into this sort of thing.

What kind of perverted freaks would fuck in the Cube? Is nothing sacred to these people?? smh.

Let it be known that these teen girls are supervillains in their own right. Who leaves a fire burning in the woods??
