Probably one of the most underrated comedies in the past 10 years
I'm so angry this didn't lead to Lauren Lapkus starring in a bunch of comedies for the next 10 years. That stupid pandemic is probably to blame. Gotta give Happy Madison credit for taking a chance on a sort of unknown comedian.
Lauren Lapkus is the definition of a tour de force in The Wrong Missy. I might be biased because I've been listening to her kill it on my favorite comedy podcast for over ten years.
BUT my wife…
I thought it would be physically impossible for me to not enjoy a movie with Bill Murray as the leading man, but here we are. "Scrooged" was by far one of the worst movies I'm seen in a long while.
It is a screamy, cynical and feeble interpretation of Dickens "A Christmas Carol", where it is painfully obvious that Richard Donner, the director and Bill Murray, the megastar was not on the same page.
For the entire movie…
Yup! This was almost everything I want from a biopic. Beautiful, gut wrenching and bold.
The cinematography at display in this film was superb. Chayse Irvin hit a home run and a slam dunk at the same time with the choice of blending different styles of aspect ratios and frame rates. That sort of thing usually ruins the illusion for me but in this one, the seams are basically non-existent and it works!
Ana de Armas will most likely win…
