Dave Jackson’s review published on Letterboxd:
Larry Cohen and Bill Lustig team up with an amazing cast (Tom Atkins, Bruce Campbell, Robert Z'Dar, Richard Roundtree to name a few) and deliver sleaze, thrills and gut-churning stunts. Though it doesn't dish out the gore in the same way Lustig's Maniac does, it makes up for that in sheer entertainment. The score is poundingly 80s. Cohen's script is filled with wonderful, hammy dialogue. And the film is genuinely well structured and never boring. If you're in the right mood, Maniac Cop is incredibly satisfying trash.
