Dave Jackson’s review published on Letterboxd:
The most fun I've had watching a movie in a while. Upgrade knows what it is and pulls it off masterfully. It's ridiculously fast-paced, vicious when it needs to be, and even genuinely funny in parts. The action is so obscenely enjoyable. It boggles the mind that Whannell managed to pull this off on such a tiny budget. Jed Palmer's score is beautiful. Stefan Duscio's cinematography is gorgeous and grimy. The Melbourne locations are appropriately filthy. Upgrade barrels on by to the finish line, punching and kicking all the way. It flies by, like a futuristic Death Wish sequel on speed.
Also: Logan Marshall-Green and Tom Hardy need to appear together in a film playing twins.
