I maybe didn't quite experience Gravity or Children of Men stress levels, but I mean... thank god. It's still incredibly tense and intense. And Hoyte van Hoytema was born to shoot the sea in 70mm.
So many haunted images in this. Not just haunting, but haunted, that's the most I can say. Ships tipping over. A patch of fire in the sea. Men crowded to the rails on deck, but standing still and silent. A plane gliding over a beach with the engine off. It feels like you're already watching ghosts.
