To the tune of Abba's “Dancing Queen”
You are the Sommar queen
You can barely sleep
Pulsing leaves from the mushroom tea, oh yea
You are high
Fighting for your dear friends' life
OoOoh, see that mural
Dig in the Summar queen
Ari Aster continues to present his horror films without the usual [and by now, overplayed] tropes by showing just enough to keep you creeped-out, with no cheap tricks (i.e. boo-scares). Pure atmosphere, emotion, and dread on display in excellent technical form.
Both the visual and practical effects were on point. Some of the most accurately depicted psychedelic visuals I've ever seen, as well as some of the best gore effects. They really did their research and left no stone unturned with the little details.
Heavy “Wicker Man” vibes.
Excellent performance from Florence Pugh.
