had the most chaotic experience of my life watching this. people walked out and an eight year old child shouted “why are you leaving!? the movie’s not over!!” before she then got up to writhe on all fours down the aisle like a cat. her parents were nowhere in sight. two rows down from me, a whole aisle spent the movie scrolling on instagram. a group of about twenty teens behind us kept stealing each other’s shoes and then finally threw an entire plastic booster seat down from the top row. when jennifer hudson started to sing memory people audibly groaned and then an usher had to come in to tell us, strangers united by this single horror, to “listen to the movie.” i listened, and i wish that i had not.
