The Village

The Village ★½

M. Night has some of his most interesting ideas present in The Village, supported by the brilliant Rodger Deakins and a dynamite cast. Yet, much like Night's other films, The Village feels crafted around its ridiculous twists, which only grow more opaque over time. Not nearly as laughable as his later films, The Village stands as a point where M. Night's obsession with shocks started to completely trample compelling storytelling.
