Nope, it just doesn't work at all for me. Characters and story are boring. Shaky cam which this movie loves to use, made it feel like i was watching a Youtubers vlog of people exploring a haunted place.
The script also was too basic, so much so that the characters couldn't even have a natural conversation, it was always for forced plot progression. The way they also tried to include pop culture references like anime, it was just out of place.
Overall the pacing was a mix, in some places they focused too much on pointless scenes that were there to add to the 'horror' aspect of the film. Whilst other story scenes, mainly in the clear areas of the research facility, were rushed to get us back underwater. However it never felt 'long', mostly just boring.
I think this is one of those films where the idea/concept is great on paper, however when made and brought to life, it has to be dragged out forcefully, due to a lack of breathing room (no pun intended) to expand on the idea.
