• The Naked Kiss

    The Naked Kiss

It's a fine film if you want something quick and simple, but it doesn't really hold as anything memorable or something to write home about. Sort of just in the moment entertainment, then onto the next.

  • A Night to Remember

    A Night to Remember

Extremely well paced and not obnoxiously dramatised, feels like a very real telling of what I could imagine the sinking would have been. This feels a lot better of a film, and certainly my preference, compared to Camerons Titanic.

  • Lawrence of Arabia

    Lawrence of Arabia

Going in, my main concern was the runtime. Now sure, you do feel the 4 hours, but it's not like it's a boring film. At all. For 4 hours, it paces itself quite well. It has very entertaining moments, as well as moments that drag on a little, but not to a degree of boredom, it's all very atmospheric so at least if the dialogue doesn't interest you, you have pretty desert scenes to look at.

    It's a fascinating watch…

    Why is this good?

  • Interview with the Vampire

    Interview with the Vampire

Christ I kept forgetting what was happening like the second after it happened, that's how boring, inconsistent and insignificant the events of this movie are. Even as the credits are rolling, I'm completely lost as to anything that happened. There is nothing remotely memorable.

Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise are obviously fine. The production design and overall look of the film is fine. But to do with the narrative, pacing and writing of the film, it's just not at all there.

    Little Miss Sunshine

Holy hell the middle of this movie just brought it to life. Paul Dano, you absolute unit of a man.

  • Scream 4

    Scream 4

Ngl, got bored halfway through and browsed Amazon; picked up the criterion for Police Story 1/2 and a Blu-Ray of Cronenbergs Shivers... oh yeah this is a review for Scream 4, right.

Well the lighting was weird, Craven gives the audience some slasher recommendations, Monica does some stuff and gets angry, "how do you do fellow kids" is the tagline of this one, and it somehow makes Scream 3 look good.

Anyways, can't wait for Scream 5

  • American Psycho

    What if....
We listened to Huey Lewis and the News...maybe a bit of Phil Collins..
    jk jk.... unless?

  • Funny Games

    Funny Games

Funny Games. Michael Hanekes critique on violence in film, and more specifically, his in-depth analysis into why people enjoy the violence that they usually endure. It was difficult to sit through the first time, and it was just as uneasy the second, despite knowing the outcomes,. As a second watch, I can safely say not only is it my favourite movie, but it reinforces my thoughts that Haneke is just an amazing filmmaker and writer.

    With Funny Games, I think…

5 rewatches, 2 in the space of 24 hours and I get it. I completely get it, and it's amazing.
