  Dunkirk is a very beautiful yet very boring war film. A slog brought up by its stunning visuals and stellar sound work, a real deviation from the usual sound mixing flubs of Nolan’s filmography. I came back wanting to love it more but I think this rewatch maybe did the opposite.

  Literally 100x better than the original. Like damn I was not expecting it to be that good. Shit almost made me tear up at the end. The sound design and editing are fantastic and goddamn the fact that most of it was done by Cruise is impressive as fuck. Say what you want about the guy but he knows how to make a good movie. And Miles Teller is… hot? I mean Jennifer Connelly too which is expected but as a straight man, damn Miles has got me feeling things. Which was unexpected given his previous work that I’ve seen. Maybe it’s the stache idk.
