Matt Williams’s review published on Letterboxd:
Saw this movie in the theatre in 2013. Really liked it at the time, but I loved it this time around.
Very different approach than the original, which remains one of the best (and most important) horror films ever made.
What really makes this movie special are all the practical effects - not just because they are practical, though it definitely shows in a good way that you're not watching CGI, but also because the effects are just plain badass.
The BTS features are GREAT. Lovely insight into a number of the effects, which as a filmmaker is incredibly cool (and valuable).
