Quite impressive for its time. The film tackles an important subject with little nuance but the films still stands as a strong political statement on exploitation a statement that rings just as true today as it did back then.

I am quite impressed with this early Sono short, even from the very beginning he shows a great deal of control in compositions and camera work.

This was an emotionally draining experience. I've never seen a film that captures my view of life with such striking poignancy. This longing for a way out. This desire to distance ourselves from our own feelings and the tragedies of the world.

Hu Bo seems like someone who understands how it feels to carry the weight of the world on your shoulders, seeing tragedy on every corner, being trapped in a cycle of hatred and self hatred. This film was a call for help sadly heard to late.
