This might just be the best edited film I've ever seen. Scorsese and Schoonmaker utilize incredibly jarring cuts from stillness to brutality and back again in rapid successsion, often cutting right into the ring from the home or vice versa to accentuate La Motta's overwhelming anger and self-imposed sexual frustration. Much has been said about the psychological journey of La Motta in the film and the nature of the tragedy of his character, so I'll leave that be. All I…

I'm not as hot an these as a lot of you probably are, and I think this one might have been the worst of the three so far (I'm hoping it ends here, but I know it won't). The MCU and Marvel Comics means so much to me. I don't think I realized how much it did until this film. My god was this an emotional rollercoaster. This was simply everything I wanted it to be. Seeing this on 70mm is up there in prob the top 5 moments of my life, for real. The thoughts and feelings I have for and as a result of this film are much better as they are than if I tried to put them to words, so I won't. Otherwise, this for me is objectively the best film ever made, and Kubrick may have just been god upon earth.
