Priyanka’s review published on Letterboxd:
Lady Bird left me speechless, and hours later, I’m still trying to articulate how this movie made me laugh and sob consistently throughout its runtime.
All I can say is this: it is wonderfully written, filled with biting humor and painful honesty. It is superbly acted, with Saorise Ronan and Laurie Metcalf in standout, powerhouse performances. It is roaming around with your best friend and playing ridiculous theater games and falling in love and falling out of love and wanting more but being afraid and trying to find out who you are and where you belong and fucking it all up along the way but figuring it out and and it is everything in between. It is real and unafraid and raw, and I know those are words used to describe every coming-of-age movie, but somehow this one feels different. It feels different and better and it made me feel so much, and I will not stop thinking about it for a long time.
Also, I already call my mother about three times a day, and after this movie, I may just up it to four.
