Inside Llewyn Davis

i wish i could have all my memories erased except for this film so that it would be the only lens through which i would view & come to understand the world. we are presented the two types of catharsis: the self-inflicted wounds of feeling bad for yourself (and feeling bad for feeling bad), and the classic Coen Irony, which is pure comedy both subverted and defined by its relationship to "Reality," which is chaos & meaninglessness. inside that catharsis--inside llewyn davis--and with the added framework of living in poverty, we are left to marinate for a perfect 110 minutes. to be confused, to laugh, to fall in love, to have our hearts broken. time will remember this movie as one of the brothers' greatest, and a smash hit for seasonal depression
