Once I realized this was the same dude who made Lars and the Real Girl everything clicked. The outfits and the general feel of the world outside the ice rink feels so similar to that and it's great.
I think seeing this a second time made me realize just how much I love the final scene. The movie is silly and the story behind it is even more absurd but the way that the ending perfectly captures the way the world views Tonya Harding is just incredible, even if the CG is a little messy.
It's easy to say this movie defends Tonya too hard but I think the movie knows when to pull the veil back and say even Tonya Harding is being a little ridiculous with what she's trying to deny.
