Pond’s review published on Letterboxd:
Much better than Homecoming and doesn’t rely on reminding you of how good John Hughes movies are to move its runtime along. I don’t think Jon Watts knows exactly how to create a great Spider-Man story and a lot of what has potential here about legacy and expectation is done better in Spider-Verse but there are some really fun moments and the second to last big fight is a lot of fun and really cool to watch. I was surprised to see that it actually seems to steal a surprising amount from the PS4 game too.
I think my biggest criticism beyond not really having that much to say is that the acting is kinda bad. Like Marvel acting isn’t really good but I never felt like it was on the whole bad until here.
