Happy to see that Peele isn’t being boxed into the Horror genre. Between “Us” and “Nope,” he really seems to pack his films with a lot of specific details (a whole monologue about Chris Kattan for example, lol). I loved that Emerald wears that Jesus Lizard t-shirt and the inclusion of that Corey Hart song. Inspired alien design (sometimes a stingray, sometimes a jellyfish, sometimes a cowboy hat). Gordy is an impressive piece of mo-cap CGI. Nice to see Michael Wincott; wish we got a little more of Steven Yuen’s character. Above all else, I really enjoyed how I could never quite get a handle on it narratively until it fully clicked.
