The Night House

The Night House ★★★★

I got an appealing - if derivative - whiff of Hereditary from the quiet way this movie presents its organizing supernatural principles, as well as from the way it deploys a suddenly-unknowable dead relative. Mostly, though, you're here for Rebecca Hall, who's incredible here, brittle and flinty and totally in command of her performance. Unconscionable that she isn't an A-lister.
