I was an intern on this movie when I was 17 :))) And I owe Zac Efron an apology. Here goes:

An angry producer dude in Oakley sunglasses told me rule #1 of being on set was WE COULDN’T TALK TO ZAC EFRON. NO WAY. DON’T EVEN LOOK AT HIM. Zac was at Beatles-level stardom to 14 year olds during 2008 — girls were chasing him all over the grounds of the high school where we were shooting, banging on…

Can’t explain it but I feel like this movie was made in 2006. Maybe cause that’s the year The Departed came out, which is also about Boston? Great stuff comin’ outta Boston. Murder, mostly. Or maybe I’m getting 2006 vibes because this is such a male version of a story about women, it feels like a very special episode of Mad Men? Idk! I had fun. I always have fun when Carrie Coon is around. But ya, 2006.

Again I’ll just say: weird!

Saw this at a q&a last night because New York is the best city in the world, and aside from the fact that I will have to sue the filmmakers over using my life story without permission, I loved this movie. To me, this is a coming of age story, and I now believe all coming of age stories should be about people entering theirs 30s. Like being 17 or 18, being in your late 20s is such a confusing…
