I really love this movie and just have so much fun watching it, but the more I rewatch it the more the last act seems incomplete to me!! Missing coverage driving me up a WALL!!!!! All these shots with actors reacting to people/situations completely out of frame?? You’re KILLING me Ostlund!
I do kinda mourn the movie that could’ve taken place entirely on the yacht. She deserved the light of day. But I also kinda mourn the movie that could’ve taken place mostly on the island. It would’ve gone so coocoo bananas you guys. Alright Scandinavian cinemá still reigns ily gnight.

I guess I’m a Hulot head, cause that guy rocks. As a kid I loved Mr. Magoo and Mr. Bean, and as an adult I’m enjoying Mr. Hulot and that all seems related to me. Elevator to the Gallows 1958
Wait this movie is so funny. Two characters have a Romeo and Juliet moment but they’re so dumb they can’t even kill themselves right. Incredible. Right up my alley. I also just fundamentally love the idea of someone being trapped in an elevator for an entire movie. It’s so funny to cut from him being an idiot assassin stuck in an elevator to his love interest who’s walking the streets of Paris all forlorn, believing she’s been dumped. I was just really laughing at anyone who fancies themselves to be “in love.” Embarrassing! Great work.

Can’t explain it but I feel like this movie was made in 2006. Maybe cause that’s the year The Departed came out, which is also about Boston? Great stuff comin’ outta Boston. Murder, mostly. Or maybe I’m getting 2006 vibes because this is such a male version of a story about women, it feels like a very special episode of Mad Men? Idk! I had fun.
