Maybe I enjoyed this so much because I watched this at Alamo Drafthouse. Maybe I enjoyed this so much because even a restrained Nic Cage is over-the-top and hilarious. Maybe I enjoyed this so much because the idea of killer fury robots trying to kill Nic Cage is one of the best concepts to work that easily should not. Maybe I enjoyed this so much because my friend who was clearly not ready for this movie could not stop questioning…

    2021: RANKED
    As Seen in Theaters

The opening scene at the school is the best. A bit of quick, sharp dialogue and refreshing, young actors giving it all. And my wife getting excited seeing her school in a movie. Knowing this place is real (as opposed to made up Jon?) and seeing relatively unknown actors having a real, awkward conversation set this movie up perfectly. From there every scene was an absolute threat. Nothing was right out hilarious, but I…

    50. Screened at Frightfest 2021

Fun, bloody movie. Nic Cage seems to be having a lot of fun in this. The action is full of blood and gore. The production design is on point. Moseley is a bad ass of a villain. The final action set was great fun. Nothing amazing here but I had a lot more fun than I expected.

    Nicolas Cage: RANKED

Take my breathe away why don't you. The music, visuals, acting, costumes, make-up, and story was out of this world. Skirts the line between reality and fantasy with wonderful precision. Cage balances his highs and lows with the skill we all know he has, yet rarely shows off. My biggest complaint is pacing. While I love a slow burn, this could have been 15 to 20 minutes shorter and not hurt the film.
