This is always a fun movie! Nicolas Cage kind of pulls off eccentric history buff adventurer. He has very few outbursts, but the few he has are funny. Justin Bartha is hilarious with his backseat comments about what is going on, wishing he was the love interest instead of Diane Kruger. John Voight is pretty good as the father. And of course Sean Bean is a great villain. I actually did not like Harvey Keitel is this movie. He was a bit too showy and really added nothing to the story. He did not come off as anything more than an average, by the book cop. It was a wasted role, but also a shit performance by him.
The story and race to find the treasure is always a lot of fun. There is a bit of historical truth and fantasy fluff to make the clues fun and interesting. Overall, I really like this fun adventure movie. I wish there were more like this.
