Another film I've heard of for years but no clue what it's about, happy to cross it off my list. I love the b-movie done in earnest during the 80s, it's not like say Acne where they were going for a spoof meets homage tone. Lair is taking that movie making mentality and applying it to the 80s abilities and climate.
I've called things "unique" before though it seems more apt here than ever, I can't quite think of a film that has the same tone, the same approach, the same story as Lair. With all these original aspects, the acting being what it is and the plot being so enthralling it's never boring.
Though it's somewhat like a vampire movie or a zombie flick it still sets itself apart by following it's own rules and creating a cool and interesting world you don't mind slipping into. I'd imagine the amount of people that have told me of this movie qualifies this as a cult classic, which I sincerely hope is the case.
That ending is top notch too, all we needed was Thriller eyes at the screen and Price cackling.
