Just realized saw movies got the same editing as the "ayo the pizza here" vine.
There's a certain charm to a lot of artists' first major/debut work that they can never seem to replicate again. Future works may or may not better depending on the artist, but sometimes you can look back and ask yourself "damn it used to be like this???" Rebels of the Neon God is kinda like that but damn does it hold up ever so much.
Always been kinda a sucker for films about teenage angst and this definitely fills that…
Can't wait to log this on letterboxd pog.
Equally as sophisticated and endearing as Lain, but doesn't hurt my head at the end. What it lacks in visuals and animation it makes up for in compelling characters in the form of Rakka and Reki and all those great side characters. There is nothing like it anywhere else.
