Not really sure what exactly I just experienced in this rated R musical, but it was definitely a level of pretentiousness that felt painful to watch rather than enjoyable or inspiring. Despite taking a David Lynch approach to storytelling in a lot of its visual sequences, symbolism, and themes of family and children (Eraserhead), it is nowhere near enough to save the film. Even on a musical level, the amount of repetition is just a discouraging to see and feels either unfinished or unnecessary altogether. Overall for me it was unique in many cases but nowhere near effective at becoming needed form of innovation to “save Cinema.”

That baby was horrifying 🙊🪆
