pitifully derivative and needlessly sadistic bullshit. it’s totally imbalanced tonally and feels like everything that’s wrong with the self-aggrandizing “elevated” horror of the past 10 years. the cast is halfway decent given the material, but there’s only so much you can do with theatrics after your character makes out with an english bulldog. who is walking out of theaters excited about this horseshit? is this really all horror “filmmakers” have to do nowadays???
