Terrence Malick is incredibly talented at polishing a turd. I don't think I've liked any movie I've seen from him but damn can he make it look fucking stunning.
All the Beauty and the Bloodshed 2022
A perfect title to encapsulate the film as it depicts the beauty of the 1970-1980s and the bloodshed of political control and artistic control in the modern day. A clash of two different decades in one documentary is surprisingly controlled with ease by the incredible director Laura Poitras. I personally didn't love the movie to the same extent as everyone else on Letterboxd but there's no denying her craft and skill at telling an incredible story.
