there were certainly CAMPY choices made here β€” mostly that some of the attempts at being meta came off nearly as parody at times β€” but loved seeing the OGs of Scream on the big screen AND FOR THE FIRST TIME!!!!! 5cream is the first installment I’ve been legally able to see by myself in decades of loving the films. that was such a treat!

The cast of up and coming actors was amazing. Jenna Ortega SERVED as usual! And…

an amazing campy dark comedy satirizing toxic pageantry culture (ig they’d think me to be a hairy legged libbie). the abrupt deaths and injuries executed with such timing just add to the mess of it all. the cast is a feast of media icons doing honestly what they do best and looking stunning while!
almost every line is pure comedy but down half a point for the excessive use of the r slur and variations. the commentary on their ignorance…

pretty good! but it felt…… dated? in a similar way that Antebellum did. very much enjoyed the ACAB notion, but some things kinda fell flat for me. I’ve said this before, but I’m not a huge fan of obvious metaphors. the β€œGoode is evil” thing yea, okay lol it’s a good wrap up to the trilogy and glad they told Sarah Fier’s story! just wish i got to see it with her at the forefront. don’t really understand why they made the characters to jump back in time in that way. certainly fun at the end with the mall scene!

nah because the wording of that note could’ve been a LITTLE clearer 😭

an amazing film depicting grief and depression in sensitive yet horrifying ways. terrifying imagery, a greatly suspenseful supernatural mystery, and fantastically executed haunting make this film a psych horror success. Rebecca Hall stuns once again with her depiction of a person battling within themselves. EVERYONE NEEDS A FRIEND WHO WILL RIDE FOR THEM LIKE CLARE AND IM MANIFESTING MINE THIS YEAR!!!
gorgeous cinematography. beautifully eerie scores. great performances from the whole cast. will certainly be adding to my depression & agoraphobia catharsis rotations.Β
all around a gem of a film!
