This is the love child of Boogie Nights and The Big Lebowski. I think that'd be the best way to describe this movie. The Nice Guys is one of the best buddy cop comedies in recent times. They honestly don't make movies like this all that often anymore. And the ones they do make usually tend to fail miserably. This did not however, thanks to a perfect comedy duo in Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe. The chemisty between the two in off the charts, people are already clammering for a sequel and I would that love, because this crime/comedy genre is slowy dying and Shane Black is the perfect guy to bring it back. It has consistent laughs throughout, the setting itself was its own character, you basically time travel back to the 70s in L.A., the soundtrack and costume design obviously help with that, but the production design was top notch, especially the party scene. The Nice Guys was just very entertaining it was one of the best times I had at the theater all year, please go out of your way to see this some how and support this movie, because we desperately need more oringial films like this.
