I like to watch things
I don’t usually rate docs or stand-up specials
This is one of the only animated Disney movies that I watched regularly when I was a kid, so it has meant a lot to me for a long time. I’ve been really scared to revisit it since it was on Disney+ because I was worried it would tarnish the memory of how happy it made me feel!
I’m pleased to report that this movie holds up! As an adult, I’m able to see some of the weird pacing and…
A smart thriller with two excellent lead performances. Sarah Paulson needs to do roles like this more often!!! She’s a great actor and I think we take her for granted!! Aneesh Chaganty is really making a name for himself in this very specific genre of parent-child thrillers.
Making a quick addition to say that it is lovely that Kiera Allen, a real life wheelchair user, was cast as Chloe in this movie. She is the first wheelchair bound actor in a mainstream thriller since 1948!!! Representation matters!!! We must do better!!
The chemistry between the cast in this movie is stunning and Jim Parsons turns in absolute best performance I’ve ever seen from him. Wow.
I applaud them for keeping the script and storyline mostly the same, but I worry that people will not know that it’s based on a work from the late 1960s. I don’t want to talk too much about it, but Joe Mantello also does a very capable job directing and that apartment is to die for.
