The Curse of Frankenstein

The Curse of Frankenstein ★★★★½

Wow I did NOT expect it to be this good.
This is the first Frankenstein film I've ever seen (the only other adaptation of Frankenstein I've seen before was in the phenomenal show Penny Dreadful) and I can't believe it took me this long to see one.

This film is just fucking amazing, Peter Cushing absolutely kills it as Viktor Frankenstein with his charm and wit, every second he's on screen is remarkable, you can clearly tell that Peter loved playing the role and he's up there with Jeffery Combs in terms of mad scientists. Robert Urquhart as Paul is lovable and a great friend, and of course Christopher Lee as the creature is something that I'd never thought I'd see before, he nails it. It's so well directed and written, I really, really enjoyed it and can wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone who's interested in horror.

I can't wait to see the rest of the Hammer films, if this is any indication, I'm gonna love all of them.
