Grade: GOOD (3.5 out of 5)

If you have seen the trailer for Ready or Not, then you have essentially seen the whole movie. The trailer is a good measure of whether or not you would like the movie. 

Ready or Not is best classified as a thriller-comedy  with unflinching violence and gore. For good measure, the film throws in some not-so-subtle commentary about the super rich.

None of the films individual parts really wowed me. The comedy is chuckle-worthy at best and the thriller-story has little to no tension due to its predictability, but the film is still a blast to watch. The strengths of the movie are its interesting story and memorable characters. Samara Weaving and Nicky Guadagni are standouts. With great characters, a movie can rise above many underwhelming aspects. 

Ultimately, the film isn’t too funny, scary, or tense, but Ready or Not is tremendous fun!
