Memorable moments, the best effects and amazing kills make this one at least entertaining.
The problem is that since they pretty much started shooting without a finished script the movie itself doesn’t really know what it wants to be. It’s messy af.
Tenet doesn’t tell a complicated time travel story, but that’s a good thing. There aren’t as many exposition dumps as in some of Nolan’s other movies. The film much more works after the philosophy of „Show don’t tell“ (compared to Nolan’s other work at least. I found it to be less exposition heavy than Interstellar or Inception. „The Rise of Skywalker“ is almost like the complete opposite of what „The Last Jedi“ was.
It’s fun, has a lot of Action and is filled with Fanservice. This is not a takedown on TLJ. I honestly really like that film, but it was much slower and character focused than any other Star Wars film.
TLJ’s and TROS‘s story themes are complete opposites of each other. TLJ was about forgetting the past and moving on. TROS is about the past…
