The Night House

The Night House ★★★½

Horror is a genre that is great at dealing with themes of grief and loneliness and The Night House is no different. The first hour and a half is a really effective creeper, as we are invited to fear the worst. The jumpscares seem earned and it's mixed with enough dread to keep your nerves on edge. Also, Rebecca Hall makes the whole experience credible which makes it all the creepier. I'm not sure the destination works and for me wasn't fully satisfying as it opens more questions than answers, questions that seem to make a couple of plot points fall apart.
