7/14- I'm so mad I slept on these movies, it feels so sincere and real, captures your full attention, the actors are great, shot super well, this one really works with the characters reminiscing about the first one, I'm not gonna say anything new, I loved this movie and I need to see the last one but I also don't want it to end

The Hangover 2009
7/12- got to see this in theaters which was fun, surprisingly still holds up pretty well, I laughed an embarrassing amount at this movie but so was everyone in the theater so it was okay, I wish the twist/plot was more satisfying and yeah it's already pretty dated but there's so many good laughs in this movie, it's actually kind of an interesting time capsule of where we were as a society in 2009 so it's worth watching for just studying purposes

The Hidden Fortress 1958
6/23- this movie's been talked to death so I'll try to give my big takeaways from it:
1. Akira Kurosawa was really good at making movies (and he wasn't afraid to take big swings)
2. Having a pair of idiots be your main POV was a good idea
3. The fighting is top notch
4. The acting is perfect, perfect amounts of subtlety/ cheese
5. This is an action/adventure/drama but that horse impression scene was the funniest thing I've ever seen
6. It's insane how many moving pieces work in concert in this movie, it's perfect -
Still Walking 2008
6/21- very good movie, it's a hard situation to try and portray but it did a really good job fleshing out all these characters, the dialogue is really clean, it almost felt like play, it did feel like something was missing sometimes or that it was meandering hitting the same point over/over but overall it did really grab me
