You ever pause a movie while streaming to buy a physical copy? I truly don't understand why the internet hasn't lost its damn mind over this movie.

If you give even a single solitary fuck about animation please please please watch this movie. I think "like nothing you've ever seen before" gets overused, but this truly is like nothing you've ever seen before.

The great joy here is absolutely in the style, but I think the story is also thoroughly…

It's still shockingly good even when you've had months worth of people telling you "the Bob Odenkirk action movie is way better than it has any right to be."

The action hits hard and the comedy is perfectly pitched so that it never takes anything away from the brutality of the violence. It makes perfect sense that this is written by the same guy who did John Wick, but it also feels like a different enough variation on the theme.

I was so excited when it seemed like the entire movie was going to be an army of Alices taking down the Umbrella headquarters and just sick action scenes.

Sadly it is not that, but it’s still good.

Has big "fuck the police" energy, specifically from a "the police are the enforcers of capitalist inequality" standpoint which makes it all the better. Points out the injustices of the way women in the service industry are treated by patrons and bosses alike. And is also hilarious (only one bit went on a little too long for me) and has an adorable dog.

Movie 5/40 for the queer film challenge 2020, this meets criteria for:
    - a film referenced in Renegade Cut’s Queer theory in 80s and 90s action movies video

I would have to agree with Renegade Cut's assessment that this is "hella gay."

It's all just so wonderfully over the top, including the villain's chainmail tank top over leather. I could have done without Arnold kidnapping a woman though.
