Why is this movie not a huge deal? Why has Mariano Baino not made more movies?

These are questions that will haunt me.

The acting and dialogue here are often not good, but the atmosphere and images are incredible and I will always love something that has this much scary Catholic imagery.

You ever pause a movie while streaming to buy a physical copy? I truly don't understand why the internet hasn't lost its damn mind over this movie.

If you give even a single solitary fuck about animation please please please watch this movie. I think "like nothing you've ever seen before" gets overused, but this truly is like nothing you've ever seen before.

The great joy here is absolutely in the style, but I think the story is also thoroughly…

Western 22/26 for the Wild West Summer 2020 challenge. Meets criteria for:
    - a Western that is a remake or the sequel to another film

It's strange when your rating from the one time you saw a movie a decade ago when it first came out still seems to be just about right.

Fifty-seventh movie in 52 Feature films by women 2020.

The action is solid to really good throughout but pretty much everything else leaves a good amount to be desired for me. There’s also some disappointing stuff like Steve Trevor being a huge bro.

My biggest problem remains the fact that DC has a house style for these animated movies instead of allowing them a visual variety and the fact that that house style is pretty visually boring and flat.

For anyone who thought Taxi Driver was too subtle and Psycho was too tame.Β

This thing is gross in the absolute best way and the horror sequences are incredible.

Forty-seventh movie in 52 Feature films by women 2020.

Like I said in my Aeon Flux review, I'm gonna like anything that has Charlize doing action.

This was a bit disappointing though, given that I knew Charlize had a battle axe I expected more to be done with that. It also didn't need to be this long.
