A horror film that surprisingly has gotten a lot more attention ever since it came out a little more than a year ago but I can see why. This film is actually very good for the most part. The story is told ok, the cinematography is great, the musical score is fantastic, the dark humor surprisingly can be very funny and mostly comes from the characters, the direction is solid, there are some very suspenseful and creepy moments that gave me some chills, and the best thing in this film is the acting which is amazing from everyone especially from Samara Weaving who did a great job in her role. However, the film is not amazing and does suffer from two big issues. First is that the story itself is really predictable and I was able to predict almost everything that happened. Even if I was entertained by the film and the story itself is told fine I was still kind of bored cause I knew almost everything that would happen. Then the second problem is that there are some of the characters can be very stupid in this film. Maybe it's because they were playing it for a laugh but I really wasn't laughing that much when a character said or did something stupid. Sometimes I did laugh but for the most part, I didn't and was kind of annoyed. However, even with those really big issues I still had a pretty good time with this film. If you haven't seen it yet and you're looking for a horror film with a lot of dark humor then this is a good watch.
