A bit jarring for a movie I thought was gonna be about weed.

I’m dead serious, all I knew about this going in was it’s in space and there’s plants. The title is High Life, what the hell was I supposed to expect?

I recently saw people comparing Jim Carrey and Adam Sandler, arguing who the better actor is. I love Sandler and Carrey both, but Carrey’s the better actor. When you line up their dramatic performances like Punch Drunk Love and Uncut Gems with Eternal Sunshine and Truman Show, to me it’s pretty equal. The difference is when you throw the comedic performances in.

They both have done a ton of comedies, but Adam Sandler almost never tries in them anymore,…

I love this movie just as much now than I did as a kid. 80’s cheese at its finest.

You guys are all talking about Batman and Spider-Man being in this, I’m talking about Dudley the asshole cousin from Harry Potter being in this.

This kind of feels like it’s trying to be a Coen Brothers movie, but it misses the mark. I had a couple problems with this movie, mainly that the voiceover was really unnecessary and expository, and the pacing was not the best. A lot happens in this movie, but a lot of it isn’t earned,…

This is cheesy, but mostly in the right places. A movie like this has a really good chance of being terrible, but this was executed pretty well.

I’m not as big on the acting in this film as most people seem to be. It was a little too over the top, even in the sequences where it would make sense. I’m mostly a fan of this because of the horror aspects, which I think were done really well. Fun watch either way.

Paul Dano?? I’m torn because I love him as an actor, but I want to see him write and direct more movies now. I’m genuinely surprised Dano has this much talent when it comes to directing; he has such a clear vision, and in this film, he has an incredible style and aesthetic as well. The performances are all great too.

    Really solid directorial debut.
