I know a lot will disagree with me on this but I personally think this is one of Lynch's strongest. It feels so Lynch meta with all of them iconic Lynch actors like Laura Dern, Sherilyn Fenn, Sheryl Lee, Jack Nance, Isabella Rossellini, Harry Dean and Grace Zabriskie (and yes I did have to type some of their names up). Though it didn't have the most Lynchian actor of all, Kyle MacLachlan, it really kept me satisfied with the acting and the mild western feel. And once again I noticed another Twin Peaks reference, One Eyed Jack's, maybe it was referring to Marlon Brando but I couldn't help myself thinking of Twin Peaks. It was really enthralling watching these two hit the road for two hours and get themselves into drama, violence and passionate moments. And this love story is kind of cringe in ones perspective, but the way Lynch puts it is really down to earth and pragmatic. And the acting really blew me away especially from Willem Defoe and Jack Nance, although Jack didn't have the biggest role he managed to make me think '' what the fuck are you on mate''. And I don't know what they did but they made Willem Defoe unrecognizable. And the amount of weird roles he's got over these years it would seem normal if he really was crazy. And yes Laura Dern was exceptional as always. I guess I have a love for the surrealist approach Lynch brings to the screen.
