I watch a lot of stuff and tweet about the stuff I watch on @DRMovieNews1.
I’m thrilled to report that The Snyder Cut is absolutely phenomenal & exceeded even my highest hopes. For a 4-hour film, it is paced beautifully & thoroughly engaging. The visuals & music are UNREAL. It’s the best film in the DCEU & Snyder’s crowning achievement.
What sets this film apart from MoS & BvS, is its perfect blend of darkness, humor. & emotion. Nothing feels like it outweighs the other & it feels exceptionally balanced. The character development is great, & - yeah - the weight of Cyborg’s…
Nolan’s most complex (& confusing) film to date. The cast is brilliant: Washington, Pattinson, & Debicki are fan-freaking-tastic. What Nolan accomplishes here on a technical level is borderline wizardry & should be seen on the biggest screen possible.
However, the sound mixing is a serious issue. Important dialogue & exposition is hard to follow in many moments, which only adds more confusion to an already confusing story. It makes Inception look like a walk in the park.
For that reason, a second (&…
Jungle Cruise is about what you’d expect: a Pirates of the Caribbean wannabe full of CGI that isn’t even on par with ‘Curse of the Black Pearl’ and a story that’s about on par with ‘On Stranger Tides’. Most of the characters are cheesy caricatures that lean on tropes we’ve all seen a thousand times. That being said, The Rock & Emily Blunt are great together, making the film entertaining enough for the family to enjoy.
The decent action sequences are…
A stunning vision of an ancient Arthurian legend that dates back centuries. The story is beautifully captured through breathtaking & awe-inspiring cinematography, a fantastic score, & great performances. However, the script leaves much to be desired.
I would NEVER recommend this to anyone that doesn’t already worship at the alter of A24. It loses its emotional weight due to a needlessly confusing script, long scenes that add little to the narrative, & it requires that you know the real legend to understand it’s…
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
Never have I ever wanted to rewatch a 4 hour movie again...a day after watching it for the first time. To be fair, I’ve never seen a 4 hour movie before 😂
So good. I want JL2 so bad.
Also...Batman’s F-Bomb. CHILLS.
A nearly 2 hour, nightmarishly animated, corporate-fueled green screen fever dream made to advertise WB properties that you can stream now on HBOMax for a low price of $14.99 a month! LeBron obviously isn’t an actor and I shouldn’t judge him as one, but he just lacks all the charm MJ had in that original movie.
I honestly don’t know who this movie is even for. Most of the references are for R Rated movies that kids aren’t even allowed…
