Lars Henriks’s review published on Letterboxd:
We built our living room to be a self-made home theatre. That really effects the way we watch movies. Gives them more value, more weight. It was a lockdown thing in 2020, when we built it, but now I can’t imagine how we ever lived without it.
For example when I watch a movie like Scream for the first time, 25 years after its initial release.
This masterpiece deserves the theatrical experience. The spectacular murder set pieces, the soundtrack, the feeling of witnessing a major popcorn movie event, all of that just wouldn’t have the same impact if watched on a laptop screen.
Since the privilege of attending social gatherings will forever feel precarious and fragile to me now, I will see to it that I always have a home theatre set up at my disposal. For films like Scream, that need to be experienced in a big way.
