This is honestly one of the strangest experiences I've had with cinema all year and in some ways I consider that a bad thing and in some ways I consider that a good thing. Of course this film was nowhere near as bad as I thought it was going to be based on the marketing alone and the songs work for the most of time. Where this film mainly showcases it's faults is the way storytelling is utilized and executed, which honestly works the least out of every aspect alone.
Rachel McAdams works pretty well in this film and is whom I'd consider the standout in the grand scheme of things. Will Ferrell gives a well-portrayed and relatively tame comedic performance that I consider to be a tad dissapointing considering how fantastic he is as a comedic actor. Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga is a fun yet needlessly mediocre ball of mixed emotions with a good enough performance from Rachel McAdams, some great catchy songs but not enough well-crafted storytelling to hold it together as a whole.
