    To call Schindler’s List a masterpiece doesn’t even come close to remotely describing it. This is one of the top 5 greatest films of all time, the most powerful film of all time, and one of the most powerful pieces of art ever created. And even then, I still think I’m underselling the film. It’s gut-wrenching, harrowing, haunting, disturbing, heartbreaking - yet hopeful, optimistic, and cathartic.

    “If we meet again in the next life you will be my sworn enemy, and I will show you no mercy.”

    There’s a shot early on at the end of the incredible processing scene, where Lancaster and Freddie are sitting at the table, smoking Kools cigarettes, facing each other and looking opposite directions. It’s perfect foreshadowing of the eventual rivalry, the two opposing sides clashing.
